Today, I am sharing this sweet little quilt that I made for my part of the Vision to Remember Quilt Tour.
This was my first ever rag quilt and I love how easy it was to put together! This project can be finished from cutting fabric, to completed quilt in just a few hours if you have sewing experience. Don't fear this if you are beginner! This project is perfect for you! It just may take a little bit longer. But definitely a doable weekend project for a beginner. (A day if you don't have children. ;) )
The pattern is written for three fabrics, but mine was made with two by repeating one of the fabrics for the boarder. I also omitted the ruffled ribbon along the boarder because this quilt had a very athletic feel to me.
I used cotton flannel in a bold yellow and dark turquoise. The cotton frays up beautifully for the rag quilt effect on the backside.
This quilt is perfect for a baby shower gift and very easy to make gender neutral. It's a good size (46"x46") for throwing on the floor to let baby play, or to toss over the carseat to protect from the wind. And it's super cozy and great for cuddling as baby gets older! My almost 6 year old was swiping this quilt before I could even clip the seams before washing it!
You can pick up your copy of the Houndstooth Rag Quilt over at A Vision to Remember.
