Art Gallery Fabric Denim Tour

I am so honored to be apart of this tour hosted by my friend Karly over at Paisley Roots showcasing The Denim Studio from Art Gallery Fabrics. I could hardly contain my excitement when I was invited!

I knew this fabric was going to be fabulous like all the other amazing Art Gallery Fabrics. So, I really wanted a project that would highlight how gorgeous this fabric was. I decided that Swoon's Bonnie was the PERFECT pattern for the solid smooth denim in Wicked Sky.

Let me tell you, this stuff is so gorgeous to work with! The solid smooth denim comes in 8 colors and is made from 80% cotton and 20% polyester. It is a light weight fabric (4.5oz) that has a nice drape to it. It would make for a beautiful shirt or a skirt, or even a dress.
And it made a stunning Bonnie.

The woven threads create a lovely textured appearance, but it is smooth to the touch.

And it highlights the top stitching like they were meant to be together.

The simplicity of the fabric gives the bag a very professional appearance that can coordinate with any look. Even a photo bombing cat.

Deciding on a lining for Bonnie was just as hard has deciding on which Denim Studio fabric to go with! In the end, I used "I'm a Maker" from the "Maker" collection by Art Gallery Fabrics. It was beyond perfect.

The floral accent is "Budquette Nightfall" from "Emmy Grace" designed by Bari J for Art Gallery Fabrics that I happened to have on hand left over from another project. It was the perfect punch of color and blends beautifully with Wicked Sky.

My little personal touch to this project was to add a bit of cotton twill tape to the handle of the bag. The denim was plenty sturdy and had a great weight with the interfacing recommended in the pattern, but I wanted to add a little something extra.

I could not be happier with the finished product! Art Gallery Fabrics really delivered on this one!

And guess what! I have a bit of extra fabric left over that I am wanting to share with you! Please comment below telling me what you love about Art Gallery Fabrics and I will chose one winner who will receive almost a fat half  piece of gorgeous Wicked Sky solid smooth denim AND a half yard of I am Maker.
Shipping will be provided to entries from within the U.S. International enteries are welcome, however, you will be responible for the cost of shipping in the event that you win. Winner will have 48 hours to claim their prize before another winner is drawn.

  20. So glad you posted a link to your blog on the Swoon FB group! I've been using a linen/cotton blend to get a denim look, but it's too textured looking to show a contrasting top stitch! I'm looking forward to trying this fabric instead!
