Spring Break Pajama Party Tour

Today I'm participating in the Spring Break Pajama Party! The party hosts are Sprouting JubeJube, Lula & Celeste, Made by Jamie and Create 3.5 and WOW did they every put together an epic tour!!! The idea of this tour is to pick a pajama pattern you have had sitting around for a while and sew it up. No more excuses! I've had Oliver + S's Sleepover Pajamas for quite a while now and just knew they were the pattern finally getting tackled.

I found the most perfect of perfect fabrics over at Hawthorne Threads, called Meteor Shower in Midnight. My son is slightly obsessed with space right now and spotting a shooting star is high up on his list of "gotta dos" so I knew this fabric was going to be a win. And boy was it ever!
He LOVES it!!

I am loving this pairing of pattern and fabric. It gives this a modern vintage look. Is that a thing? I feel like it should be. (Ha! I googled it! It is a thing!)

Throw in a good book about the moon and the boy was well, over the moon to do this photo shoot.

Thomas is pretty tall in comparison of his chest size, so I made a size 6 with an inch added to the length of the pants, shirt body and sleeves. The pants ended up a touch long, but I want these to last a while and he grows like mad, so I planned to cuff them. The pattern features grow with me cuffs in the sleeves. I thought that was a sweet touch!

Curved pockets are not my friend. I love them though and I will keep trying to go for the perfect curve! One day I will tackle it!

The white accent fabric is Hawthorne Hues Solid White. It's a nice bright crisp white and really pops against the Midnight Blue.

For simplicity, and because my kid loves them, I went with Kam snaps down the front instead of buttons.

This handsome guy is turning 6 in a few weeks. He wants a SPACE themed party! So we got a head start on some party decorations, which you can see in the background. I love when things work out like this!

  7. I love this pattern - I've made it 11 times now! My only problem is that it takes so long! But maybe that is because i'm always doing multiples at a time!

  8. Thanks a ton for sharing details of this spring pajama party. Keep sharing such posts. My daughter wants a frozen party on her upcoming birthday and at one of her favorite party venues in NYC. Hoping to fulfill her wish.
