Gracious Threads New Look Blog Tour and SALE

I am so excited to show you my take on the New Look theme for Gracious Threads Blog Tour! I started with some adult clothes I found on sale/clearance racks that needed a New Look.
A woman's XL french terry pull over from Old Navy and a pair of men's XL grey swears and XXXL yellow tee from Walmart were my main fabric sources. I threw in a few scraps from my stash to round things out.

I started off with the Raindrop Tee. Yes, it's a "girls" pattern with a high low hem. But, I gave it a New Look and used the back hem for the front and took a few inches off the over all length. I also swapped out the neck binding with a band and raised the scoop neck up to a more unisex style. I layered the short sleeve option over the long sleeve and added cuffs to the long sleeve. I LOVE how this turned out!!

This guy loves it too!

On to the pants! I used one of my favorite cozy pants patterns, Lazy Days Lounge Pants. These pants are always a win. The pockets are nice and deep and they are comfy, but they don't look sloppy. I gave the pants a New Look by adding a quick cargo pocket to one side.

And now my favorite piece! I used the Henday Zip Up Hoodie and made a few changes to it as well. For this hoodies New Look, I used the pocket lining for the slat pockets and made kangaroo pockets instead. I also lengthened the sleeves to give extra growing room. I used the original sleeve hem and attached the cuffs a bit differently so I could keep that detailing.

The pull over had this great seam down the back, so I kept it to add interest.

I am always trying to find ways to add little details to clothing. This fox ribbon was perfect for hiding the raw edges of the hoodie.

And that's our New Look! Nice and comfy, but pulled together and still stylish. It's a good look to have, if you ask me!

Thomas thinks it's a pretty good look, at least. This is his "I'm handsome" pose. He lowers his voice and says "I'm handsome" when he does this. Cracks me up!!

  5. so much to like about your boy's New Look... I think the zip up Henday Hoodie is my fave! That fabric is awesome - very smart to use adult clothes as fabric. There is so much more variety that way.
